Did you copy from one device to another? = then delete the save folder and check sys.txt for device related lines.Hmmm!! I have different copies on my disk, just stored same versions / with different data/branding files.
I test out many dvdunits weekly. And I have never had this problem, but I saw that it was CE 6.0 and I thought that this was the issue!:-).Im copying the files over again now, and i'll simply try to delete the save folder and see how that goes:)).What happens is:When I click navigation, the bootscreen comes up, and then it kicks me out. Does your data.zip support it?And/or did you you change data.zip and branding.zip files around?Im pretty sure I have changed the data/branding zip sometime down the road, but it is ages ago.Data.zip is 43,369 KB in sizeBranding.zip is 3,711 KB in sizeIm 100% sure about the resolution, as I have used the resolution tester aswell to confirm it.
It is running 800x480 in resolution. How can i check if the data.zip supports it? (been having problems finding releases on the net aswell nowadays, of branding/data zip). Tried changing the sys file only, and I get this error: 'Failed to open file: uiigo8960544loading.bmp. The first attempt when booting the screen goes black for a few and returns back to where I started. Second time / 3rd I get the error message as described above.2. After this I tried changing the sys version you gave me as instructed, from the previous setting to: skin='uiigo8da', but it still gives the same error as above.I noticed that IGO has made a 'crash' file aswell now.3.
I replaced the data and branding.zip with your files, but now it isnt booting at all, first time I tried the dvdplayer rebooted, second time I tried to boot nothing happened. So now I dont get a bootup screen or anything.I see that my IGO8.exe file is 6.90MB in size. ( 08:50 AM)nabi Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. The sys.txt I gave you is not that different from yours. I basically left out the resolution stuff, because iGO is smart enough to find out itself.Add to sys.txtrawdisplayscreenx=800screeny=480class='landscape'highres=0And delete the save folder until iGO works!!Thanks for your continuing help! Much appreciated nabi! After I added this code I atleast get the bootscreen back up, but no errors of any kind, just show boot screen and I get back to the mainmenu, like previously. This is a hard nut to crack apperantly. Stops at INIT API.hehe:)FOUND THE SOLUTION(this was mentioned by another user at another forum)Quote:this is not resolution problem!on WinCE 6.0 the older igo8.3 versions not working (like on Wayteq pna).try newer igo 8.3.4 version with worldwide licens file, will working!
@ rawI am pleased that you have found a solution to your problem. However it may not be Win CE 6 as such, which is to blame. It is known that device manufacturers do sometimes modify CE and other operating systems, to suit their particular needs. So it may be a combination of your iGO8.3 and the particular 1DIN device, that you have. It would be interesting to know what exact version number of your non-working iGO8 is.I have just tested two of my devices, with old versions of iGO8. Both are running CE 6.0,One is a Chinese 7' 2DIN unit with 800x480 resolution, and with that I'm using an iGO8 v8.3.2.93112.The other one is a Chinese 4.3' with 480x272 resolution and using iGO8 v8.3.1.64181.Both of them work 100%.So I am still inclined to think that your original problem was in data/branding.zips. That '960544' resolution 'loading.bmp' is very odd. Haven't come across that one before in GPS units. But if if works, leave it alone.
As an old wellknown member of this forum always used to say 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'Cheers.
